Do I need to pre-book my entry tickets?

Tickets are available for the Goondiwindi Picnic Races. Please visit our Tickets page for more information on ticketing. Tickets can also be purchased at the gates on the day.

How do I get to the track?

Gunsynd Park is located at: Racecourse Road, 41 McDougall St, GOONDIWINDI, QLD 4390.

Our Picnic Races Courtesy Buses will be running again this year. For pick-up and travel times, click here.

Can I park my car at the races?

Limited free parking is available all day at Gunsynd Park. Disabled parking facilities will be located close to the track entrance. The best way to get to the races is to catch one of our FREE courtesy buses from town.

What time will the gates open/close?

Gates to Gunsynd Park will be open from 12:00pm AEST. Bars will open at 12:00pm AEST with the first race commencing at 1:30pm AEST. Gates will close at 11:45pm AEST when all racegoers will be required to vacate the premises.

What are the entry requirements if I am under 18?

All racegoers under the age of 18 must enter and remain under the supervision of a responsible adult while at the venue.

What time will under 18’s be required to leave the premises?

Racegoers under the age of 18 will be required to leave the premises at 6:00pm.

Will food and beverages be available on the day?

Food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase on the day for purchase. Payment with cash, Visa and Mastercard will be accepted.

Can I bring my own food to the event?

Attendees may bring their own food to the races. Alcohol must not be brought onto the premises as the races is a licensed event.

What time will Fashions on the Field commence?

Fashions on the Field nominations must be submitted by 2pm, with the competition commencing at 3pm. For more information click here.

Will there be ATM facilities available at the track?

Yes, ATMs will located at the track. ATMs are also available in the town centre.

Will there be baby change facilities available?

There will be baby change tables and nursing facilities in the Mother’s Tent - proudly sponsored by Lucy Walker's Terry White Chemist.

How do I find lost property?

All valuables such as phones, cards, keys, jewellery will be taken to the Police station for collection from Sunday lunch time. All other items will be left on a table at the entry gate on Sunday morning.

Re-usable wine glasses and champagne flutes

This year, the Committee is has decided to introduce re-usable glasses and flutes for all wine and champagne purchases. These re-usable glasses and flutes can be purchased at the bar for $5, and may be taken home by patrons when leaving the event. It’s important we take small steps towards a cleaner environment. As such, no disposable wine glasses or champagne flutes will be available for use on the day. Please keep our races clean by using the recycling and waste bins provided.

The Goondiwindi Picnic Races has a strict No Dickhead Policy. In part it means looking after yourself and others.
